Located along Campus Drive is Klamath Falls' only national food chain restaurant that isn't fast food (unless you're getting Carside to Go). Applebee's has been in business here since 1997. I should know, I attended their grand opening and waited almost two hours to sit and enjoy free appetizers. It was a big deal for a small city like Klamath.
The food here is respectable but the high turnover of staff keeps the quality and consistency of food and service a hit-or-miss.
One of the highlights of this restaurant that has distinction over many of the others is the Dan O'Brien Hometown Hero Olympic Wall of Fame. O'Brien won the decathlon at the '96 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and was raised here in Klamath Falls and still holds a few track records at Henley High School. There is also a wall devoted to Klamath Union High School, Mazama High School and Henley High School. This Applebee's location paid special attention to the 'Neighborhood Grill' look and feel inside.
