The Skeptics Were Wrong...Again!

When Pier 39 broke ground on August 9, 1977 and projected an opening of October 4, 1978 at 11:30 a.m., skeptics abounded. They said it was practically impossible to build a project of the magnitude of Pier 39 in fourteen months.

As you can see from these construction photos, the skeptics were wrong--again.
