Late Gothic church of St. James the Greater is located in Prachatice on Kostelním námestí, the large square beside the Písecká gate. It belongs among the most important and oldest sights of Prachatice.
It is dedicated to the St. James the Greater, patron saint of merchants, traders, pilgrims, porters costs and orphans. Selecting the patron was given to the placement of the Golden path followed by the Passau Prachatic came into beasts of burden and buyers.
