Depicted small hydroelectric power station Beroun (Malá vodní elektrárna Beroun), located on Berounka river in the northern part of town Beroun, was built in the frame of Beroun' waterwork reconstruction in 2010-2011.
Small hydroelectric power station Beroun, working at maximal water flow 28 m³/s, is equipped by four semi-Kaplan turbines Hydrohrom SSK 1300. Every turbine drives horizontal asynchronous generator with nominal output 180 kW.
A small run of the river (ROR) hydroelectric power plant with automatic operation control was built on the Berounka bank in Beroun while avoiding watermark fluctuations in the upper part of the reconstructed mechanical weir. During its reconstruction the originally fixed old weir was partially converted into a mechanical one. Hence, peculiar blue mobile industrial sculptures appeared on pylons above the water. On one bank a sluice was built of wood for canoeists and a cobbled stone fish ladder created on the second one with water rushing across the stones rapidly.
