Wimbledon Library is predominantly a brick built building with some Portland stone used on the frontage. The sculpture is on the north west side wall and breaks up what would otherwise be a boring section of brickwork.
Each panel, three in total, is about two metres wide by a metre high. The frame holds narrow horizontal and vertical struts, possibly concrete, to give the appearance of bookshelf. The "books" are made from what could be bricks that have been sliced or terracotta tiles.
It is an unusual and interesting idea for a sculpture and fits in well with the existing brickwork.
