Gyrstinge kirke er bygget omkr. år 1100. og består af romansk
kor og skib med sengotiske tilbygninger. Fundne kalkmalerier
i 1897 afslørede malerier fra anden halvdel af 1200-taller

Kirken ligger centralt i Sognet midt i Gyrstinge By.
Bygningen består af romansk Kor og Skib, sengotisk Tårn og Våbenhus
(foran Norddøren) samt Sakristi fra 1848 ved Østgavlen
Kampestenene i Murværket ligger gennemgående i regelmæssige Skifter.

I en Granitkvader på Korets sydøstre Hjørne ses et lille, ind­
hugget Cirkelkors, Tvm. 11 cm, med opsplittede og flettede Arme.

I 1700’erne fandtes ved Degnestolen malet en Djævel
(»depicta cacodæmonis imago«) med Indskriften: 
»Noli me tangere! cuncta mala mundi mea sunt«
(»Ror mig ikke, al Verdens Ondt kommer fra mig«)

a devil ('depicta cacodæmonis imago') with the inscription:
