The Oktogon has been built to connect the rooms in the different parts of the gallery. It connects the 'Altes Rthaus' (Old Town Hall) and the gallery rooms in the 'Stadtbibliothek' (City Library).
The Oktogon has been opened on 6/4/1990.
It has been built by plans of the architect Josef Paul Kleihues.
