This permanent coordinate plaque is located adjacent the Queen's Park, and is the first in a series of one of 11 benchmarks placed throughout Canada and placed during Canada's Centennial to honour the surveyors who helped establish the nation. The plaque next to the benchmark lists the coordinates and the distances between the other 10 benchmarks including a map of all 11.
Dedicated by Premier John P. Robarts on June, 21, 1967.
