In Washington, at Glendale Cemetery, is this grave for Alice P. Sullivan, who lived to the age of 100.

The grave is located in the open and newer part of the cemetery. From Washington Square, where IL Route 8 and Main Street meet, take Main Street South to Holland Street. Take a right onto Holland Street and go one block and turn south onto Market Street and drive to the end at the old Washington Cemetery. Turn right and drive around this cemetery and to the entrance to the Glendale Cemetery. Follow the main road within the cemetery to the back part where it is open and with few trees. Turn onto about road 13 and travel to near the center. The grave is nearby, about 12 ft from the road.

The grave is a thick stone marker about 2 ft high. The east side facing the road has the following engraved in it:

"[Design with roses]
Sullivan

Peter A.
July 4, 1882
Sept 18, 1956

[Cross]

Alice P.
Nov. 13, 1884
October 19, 1985"

The only thing I found about Alice was on Findagrave.com. It contains general information:

She was born in and died in Eureka, IL, which is the next community to the east. Her former name was Pifer. Children were Roger, Charles, and Edward.

Some things that happened in these years:

1884:
May 1 - The eight-hour work day is proclaimed by the Federation of Organized Trades and Labor Unions in the United States.
Aug. 5 - The cornerstone for the Statue of Liberty was set.
Nov. 4 - Grover Cleveland wins the election for the first of two non-consecutive terms as US President.

1985:
January - President Ronald Reagan is sworn in for his second term as US President.
April 23 - Coca-Cola introduces a new formula for its signature soft-drink. Less than 3 months later, Classic-Coke would be introduced.
Sept 1 - The wreck of the HMS Titanic is located in the Atlantic Ocean.
