The Susanville city hall is located at 66 N Lassen Street. The City Hall building predates the 1924 Masonic Temple building which is located next door.
Susanville is the county seat for Lassen County in the northeastern corner of California. Susanville was named for Susan Roop, daughter of Isaac Roop who founded Susanville. The name was adopted in 1857 and the first post office was established in 1860. The town was incorporated in 1900 following a vote of 61 to 20 in favor of incorporation. The official anniversary is August 15, 1900.
