It is on the side of what was originally the Bishop's Palace, but is now a small family run hotel.
He was born in the town of Soller in 1745 and died in 1818. As well as rising to the position of bishop he was also a deputy of the Cadiz Court, a constituent assembly in Spain during the Spanish Revolution of 1808-14. As a member of the court he also helped to write the first Spanish constitution.
The hotel has recently placed an information board that translates the plaque into a number of languages.
