The 2.8m tall by 4m wide frame by local artist Porky Hefer is a permanent interactive artwork and is part of the Table Mountain New7Wonders legacy project. It provides visitors to the V&A Waterfront with the perfect vantage point for taking photos of themselves, friends and family with Table Mountain as a spectacular backdrop.
The frame has also been nominated for the list of sites to visit as part of the Cape Town World Design Capital 2014 project, and is the first in a series of New7Wonders legacy frames to be installed throughout the South African city.
"While Table Mountain defines our city, it is much greater than that. It is a natural world heritage site that belongs to all South Africans and, the world" says Cape Town Mayor, Alderman Patricia de Lille.
The Table Mountain frame was unveiled on Friday 27 September, 2013 right in time for us Canadians to enjoy it during our visit to V&A Waterfront on October 17.
