Following a proactive campaign in 2010 to serve on the board of Monopoly Canada , it is with great pride that the population of Saint -Jean- sur- Richelieu saw his city occupy the dark blue field identified in Park Place , the second largest field on the game board

Behind this campaign of pride and civic engagement , a team of representatives from the City of Saint -Jean- sur- Richelieu and community partners sought the participation of 21 co- chairs of the campaign to encourage local vote.

Recall that in January 2010, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the game, the parent company Hasbro announced the creation of a Canadian edition of the famous Monopoly game . To fill 22 boxes of the game, the company proceeded to a shortlist of 65 cities, including Saint -Jean- sur- Richelieu and 12 other Quebec cities , voted on by the public.

Suite à une campagne proactive en 2010 pour figurer sur la planche de Monopoly Canada, c'est avec une grande fierté que la population de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu a vu sa ville occuper le terrain bleu foncé identifié à la Place du Parc, le deuxième terrain en importance sur la planche de jeu.

Derrière cette campagne de fierté et de mobilisation citoyenne, une équipe formée de représentants de la Ville de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu et de partenaires du milieu a sollicité la participation de 21 co-présidents de campagne pour encourager le vote local.

Rappelons qu'en janvier 2010, pour célébrer le 75e anniversaire du jeu de société, la compagnie mère Hasbro annonçait la création d'une édition canadienne du célèbre jeu Monopoly. Pour remplir les 22 cases du jeu, la compagnie procédait à une présélection de 65 villes, dont Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu et 12 autres villes québécoises, soumise au vote du grand public.
