In Lacon, at the base of the truss bridge over the Illinois River and next to the Lacon Marina, is a boat ramp.
The access is off IL Route 17, just east of the bridge. The access leads to a large parking lot, with the single ramp at the end, near the bridge.
As far as can be determined, there are no fees - no staffed or self serve fee stations.
The Illinois is one of the navigational rivers in the Mississippi River system. It connects the Mississippi at the mouth to the Chicago River and the Great Lakes to the north. But most people would just want to navigate around Lacon from here. There are locks both up and down stream but many miles away.
