This restaurant and former stagecoach line (Noon Day Stagecoach Stop) was a visiting place for Abraham Lincoln. In 1844, while campaigning for Whig party presidential hopeful Henry Clay, Lincoln stopped here on his way home from nearby Evansille, IN. He came here for his stagecoach ride back to Illinios.
According to history, he toured southern Indiana while campaigning for Henry on his way to visit his mother's grave in what is now Lincoln City, IN. The trip that he stopped here at the Log Inn was the only time he visited his mother's grave.
