The ISS reached a maximum altitude of 82 degrees at 19:42:35 on October 30, 2013 in Mission Tx, and 59 degrees at 18:46:18 in Guatemala City. The predicted magnitude was -3.4, considerably brighter than Vega, a nearby bright star in the constellation Lyra. At the second site it had a maximum magnitude of -3.3. The distance between our two sites is 947.7 miles according to FizzyCalc. The travel time between maximum altitudes was approximately 3 minutes 43 seconds. Locally in Mission the sky was partly cloudy. In Guatemala it was also partly cloudy. The site coordinates in Guatemala (site 2) were N14° 36.169' W90° 29.195'. The site coordinates in Mission (site 1) were N26° 12.710' W98°22.402'.

Hardyp3 learned a bit about taking satellite photos with his Canon SX150 camera, and the distances covered during a pass of the ISS. He and his wife are seasoned ISS observers and love to catch it during clear nights wherever they happen to be. Both observers are experienced geocachers and Elcaballero particularly liked adding this experience to his 'hunting experiences'. It was an exciting adventure for both of us.
