A cut bench mark on the corner of the tower of St Andrew's Church, Tilmanstone. There was a Saxon church here before the Normans replaced it. St Andrew's church with its thick flint walls and tower dates from the mid 11th century, at one time recorded as being dedicated to Knight’s Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem. Both the nave and chancel retain Norman windows on the north side.
