The ruin of a medieval castle and an adjacent chateau in a pseudo-Gothic reconstruction. The castle came into existence at the end of the 13th cent, as a border guarding fortress. In the middle of the 16th cent, it was bought by the Harants of Polzice and a Renaissance section was built as an extension. In the 17th cent a new chateau was built on the rampart wall and, under further owners, the old castle started to fall into disrepair. Only in the 19th cent pseudo-Gothic adaptations of the castle were carried out. Nowadays the chateau houses a gallery of the Czech graphic art.

Zricenina stredovekeho hradu a prilehly zamek v pseudogoticke prestavbe Hrad vznikl koncem 13. stol. za panu z Klenove jako pohranicni strazni pevnost V pol. 16. stol. jej koupil rod Harantu z Polzic a pristavel renesancni trakt. Tady se take narodil skladatel a spisovatel popraveny v r. 1621 - Krystof Harant z Polac. V 17. stol. byl na hradebni zdi vystaven novy zamek a za dalsich majitelu stary hrad zacal chatrat. Na zacatku 18. stol. uz je uveden jako zricenina. Az v 19. stol. doslo k pseudogotickym upravam zamku, ve kterem dnes sidli galerie ceskeho vytvameho umeni.
