1965: Gemini 3: NASA launches the United States' first 2-person crew (Gus Grissom, John Young) into Earth orbit.

1985: The United States Food and Drug Administration approves a blood test for AIDS, used since then to screen all blood donations in the United States.
1995: In Denver, Colorado, Stapleton Airport closes and is replaced by the new Denver International Airport, the largest in the United States.
2005: The People's Republic of China ratifies an anti-secession law, aimed at preventing Taiwan from declaring independence
