This Czech post stamp issued in 2001 depicts valuable example of the traditional rural architecture of Bohemian Paradise region, old water mill, you can find in a small village Strehom near town Sobotka.
Perfectly restored, nowadays serving as residential house, is this traditional example of timbered rural architecture of Bohemian Paradise region - former water mill in Strehom. The timbered main mill's building was build in 1516. Still functional (occassionally, during season weekends...) water wheel is driven by a mill race using water of the creek Klenice. The mill was fully operational and servig until 1953 - from that time is only documenting the history of milling and serving as a scene for taking of many Czech and European fairy-tale movies...
