This is a beautiful memorial which stands across from the Purcell City Hall.

On the north side of W. Main Street is a grassy area with several white benches. The memorial consists of ten granite pillars engraved with the names of Purcell area veterans who served our country. Located in front of the ten pillars is a bronze sculpture of a soldier kneeling with his hand on his helmet on the ground before him. This sculpture rests on a white marble base, which is mounted on a concrete cube. On the four sides of the marble base are the words:
FAR FROM HOME / BUT NEVER ALONE / WE WILL REMEMBER / DEDICATED JUNE 9, 2007.
The pillar directly behind him is engraved:
For all the brave men and
women who have served and
those who continue to serve
in the U.S. Armed Forced and
for those listed KIA, MIA-POWWe honor and salute you
The remaining pillars are engraved with the names of those who have served.
