When I was a boy growing up in rural Alberta, Stan Reynolds was already a legendary pack rat. Reynolds began by accumulating old cars, trucks, tractors and agricultural equipment when nobody else wanted them, and by 1955 an impromptu private museum (The Reynolds Museum) was opened to exhibit some of his collection.

In 1992 the Reynolds-Alberta Museum opened, now owned and operated by the Province of Alberta. Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame is the on-site partner of the Reynolds - Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin. Its collection of over 70 vintage aircraft is the second largest of its kind in Canada. Much of the collection is from the original Reynolds collection.

The collection attempts to concentrate on aircraft important to the aviation history of Canada. It includes C1347, a Curtiss JN-4C Jenny, one of the first aircraft to fly in Canada, 5418, a Hawker Hurricane XII flown by Canadians in WWII, 104763, a Lockheed CF-104 Starfighter flown by the Canadian Air Force, 114076/12, a Canadair CT-114 Tutor as flown by the Snowbirds, etc., etc. The museum has bush planes, WWI and WWII aircraft, early air freight and passenger airplanes and notable personal aircraft.

Most of the collection is indoors, with a few of the largest ones being outside beside the main building.
