Barnwell Lee Taggart - Born December 18, 1870. Died November 13, 1899.
Mr. B.L. Taggart was 28 years old.
This marker is, for the lack of a better word, CURIOUS to me.
1. The name "plate" appears to be scroll like, hanging by a rope from a cut branch.
2. The Woodmen of the World "circle" in different from all the others I have come across. Instead of it being raised and on the front of the marker, it is inset on the back.
3. The top is not the normal straight cut, it is two uneven cuts.
4. The base is not the normal four logs, it is more like a group of rocks.
5. Most significatly "odd" - From what I have seen, the number of branches normally equal to the age of the Woodman, rounded up to the next highest multiple of ten. This monument has a total of SEVEN BRANCHES! Mr. Taggart was only 28 when he passed on. That would only equal to three branches.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
