This depth measure is on the River Calder near Chantry Bridge, Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

The River Calder rises in the Pennines and runs through to join the River Aire at Castleford where it becomes the Aire and Calder. Many parts of the river are avoided by boats due to navigable canals.

At the city of Wakefield the river runs under a number of bridges and over weirs.
