This water tower is located on Cottonwood Road, a tiny street within the town of Buffalo, TX (in Leon County). It can be easily spotted when driving either Northbound or Southbound on Interstate Highway 45.
Buffalo had 1,804 inhabitants as of the 2000 census and is only 4 sq. miles (10 km2) wide. It is a just another small Texas town, indistinguishable from any other save for a few funny trivia facts:
* In 1993 and 1994, the town temporarily changed its name to "Blue Star, Texas" during Super Bowl weekend, to show support for the Dallas Cowboys (who faced the Buffalo Bills both years; blue is the color of the star on the Cowboys' helmet).
* In 1999, it again briefly changed its name, this time to "Green Star, Texas", to support the Dallas Stars as they played the Buffalo Sabres in the Stanley Cup finals.
