This zinc headstone marks the grave of John Garbe, a Union veteran who served in the Illinois Cavalry during the Civil War. The marker has John's name, birth and death information on the short side, facing a civil war marker. The panels are missing from the two longer sides of the monument, one of them replaced with a plain sheet of metal. The opposite short side features an anchor.
