[DE:]Die Bismarcksäule wurde zu Ehren des Reichskanzlers Otto von Bismark erbaut. Entworfen wurde sie vom dem Architekten Wilhelm Kreis. Der Bau begann in Jahre 1902 und wurde im Jahre 1903 abgeschlossen. Als Baumaterial wurde Trachyt aus umliegenden Steinbrüchen verwendet. Das Gebäude ist etwa 13m hoch steht auch einer 4 mal 4m großen quadratischen Fläche. Die Vorderseite ziert ein Bronze-Relief Bismarcks. Auf der Spitze des Gebäudes befindet sich eine Schale, die mit Holz abgefüllt werden konnte, um ein Feuer zu entzünden. Von dieser Möglichkeit wird heute kein Gebrauch mehr gemacht. Die Einweihung des 13m hohen Bauwerks fand am 21. Juni 1903 statt.
[EN:] The Bismarck-column was built in honor of Chancellor Otto von Bismark. It was designed by the architect Wilhelm Kreis. Construction began in 1902 and was completed in 1903. Trachyte has been used as building material. It was taken from local stone quarries in the Westerwald. The building is about 13m tall and is build on a 4 times 4 m square-cut area. The front is adorned with a bronze relief of Bismarck. At the top of the building is a shell that has filled with wood to start a fire. Nowadays there is made no use of this feature anymore. The dedication of the 13m high structure was held on June the 21st 1903.
