The following information is from Paul Brown, Library Director, McCormick County Library, via email.

Quilt owner: Dianne Scruggs Purdy - retired McCormick County Library Director.
Quilter: Mary Jane Edmunds Furqueron
B. Oct 21, 1857 - D. April 7, 1947

From Dianne:
"Mary Jane was my great grandmother, everyone called her Nannie. She was 90 years old when she died, her obit said, "She was alert, always ready to go, and her hands were never idle until they were folded in death." She had 9 children and was one of 12 children. Her parents were John Francis Edmunds and Augusta Ann Harris Edmunds, whose home sat on the corner of Pine St. and Augusta St., now the Methodist Church parking lot. (John F. Edmunds is the ancestor of many people living in McCormick today.) Mary Jane was the mother of my grandmother, Georgia Furqueron Scruggs, who was the mother of my father, Lewis Furqueron Scruggs. I do not know the year the quilt was made, but as she died in 1947 at 90 years old, it had to have been some years beforet that."
