This is a statue of Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous musican and composer. It is located at the 'Notorgraben' in Nürnberg, Germany, Bayern. It has been moved to the current location in 1937.
The statue has been created by Konrad Roth (1882 - 1958) in 1927. It was a donation by Ottilie Schäfer, a piano teacher.
The more than life-sized statue is made of limestone.
It was originally placed in front of the opera. But it had been moved in 1937. A bust of Richard Wagner has been placed instead.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn in 1770. He died in Vienna in 1827.
