Original theatre burnt down, grants and funding produced current building, which replaces the 'blue box' Century Theatre, which had been in Keswick since 1975.
Officially opened in December 1999 by Dame Judi Dench and her late husband Michael Williams, presidents of the Theatre by the Lake.
