In Eagle Township, several miles west of the nearest incorporated city, Streator, is The Annunciation of the BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) Church.
The church is located on Route 18, at the intersection with County E 12th Road. The church is within Eagle Township, an unincorporated unit of LaSalle County with a population of about 1700 with an area of 31 square miles. Surrounding the church is the church rectory and three other houses plus a farm house a little down the road. Munster, a geographic name shown on maps and a sign, does not appear to be an incorporated settlement and was also at most a few houses clustered together.
The church is a brick structure with a tall spire visible for miles. The peaked roof may either be slate or shingle. The door opens at the Route 18 end of the building. A cornerstone with the year 1924 is to the right. A sign to the right says the name of the church "Church of the Annunciation BVM (Blessed Virgin Mother)" and "Roman Catholic Church," and "Founded -- 1869."
Not much information is available about this church. A page from the Peoria Diocese states that they have masses on Saturday at 4:00 pm and Sunday at 8:00 am.
