St Nicholas church was founded in the late 13th century and stands in the centre of the village of Pluckley. Pluckley is said to be the most haunted village in England with many ghostly sighting.

The tall tower at this church is home to six bells. All six bells were cast in 1853 by Charles and George Mears. The following information regarding these bells is taken from Loves Guide to the Church bells of Kent:
