Perched high on a hill overlooking Bayfield and Lake Superior, Hauser’s orchard and farm is one of the area’s most visited tourist spots. This historic barn was ordered and shipped from Sears Roebuck in 1928 at a cost of less than $900 and was assembled locally. Used as cattle barn until the 1950’s, it is now a tourist attraction; visitors to the orchard are invited to climb to the hayloft where a “Superior View” awaits the avid photographer. A vast collection of hats decorate the interior walls and ceiling; and farm antiques and tractor collections are also to be admired. The barn is open from May 1 through October 31, but it can be seen from the road at any time of the year.
