A unique baroque complex founded by F. A. Spork (1662 - 1738). The construction of this complex was started in 1692 (G. B. Alliprandi). At first, on the left bank of the river, the spa part with the castle and the staircase were built at the curative springs. On the right river bank, a hospital and the Holly Trinity Church with the count tomb were built. The area in front of the church and the hospital is decorated with M. B. Brauns’ (1684 - 1738) statues. The statues represent allegories of the Religion, the Virtues and Vices. The sculptural decoration was created between 1712 and 1731. In 1743, the Order of the Brothers of Mercy moved into the monastery and, according to the regulations of the Spork’s Kuks Foundation, started to took care of the old and ill inmates of the hospital. Documentary engravings, the preserved hospital with a baroque pharmacy, a church, a chapel, a monastery garden and with a lapidary of originals of sculptures re?ect the former largesse and monumentality of the whole complex.
