Devils Lake occupies a bedrock basin dammed by a lava flow from Le Conte Crater to the west. The lake is at an elevation of 5440 feet and has a surface area of 23 acres. The lake receives water from a 2.6 square mile drainage basin, with the primary tributary being Tyee Creek. There is no surface outlet.
