This outdoor warning device is located on the southeast corner of the old City Hall building, in downtown Pauls Valley. This building was constructed in 1910 and once housed the Pauls Valley Fire Station. The warning device is mounted atop a wood pole and has two tiers of stationary horns, 16 in total.
An article in the Pauls Valley Democrat newspaper in May of 2010 addressed the use of the town's sirens to alert citizens of the threat of impending danger. The Pauls Valley sirens are sounded in two ways, to alert the public to potential danger, and to sound the all-clear. (

When it comes to emergency warning sirens in Pauls Valley one is located in the downtown area, one near PV General Hospital and another close to the intersection of South and Leslie streets.
There are no sirens on the west or east sides of town.'"
