In Metamora's center is the Metamora village green.
The green is bordered by Mt. Vernon, Davenport, Partridge, and Menard Street.
The green is a square plot with lots of trees, surrounded by buildings that include the Metamora Administration Building and the Metamora Courthouse, which Abraham Lincoln visited while working on cases.
The green has a gazebo at the center, with paths radiating out from it. To the west is a band stand with seats. To the northeast is a statue of Abraham Lincoln and Mrs. Goings, who was a client of his. Next to them is an historical sign that relates the story. To the south is a war memorial.
This is a fine place to stope and sit, shaded from the sun.
