Ostrý Rohác (2,088 metres / 6,849 feet ASL, can be translated to english as
"Sharp Stag-beetle") does not belong to highest ones, but is probably most famous peak of Western Tatras mountains, Slovakia.
Like a twins, Ostrý Rohác and Placlivô are towering on the main ridge above Rohácska valley, giving to this part of the mountains their characteristic shape.
Sharp peak is known mostly thanks to challenging hiking route via its two horns-like summits. Red-marked trail through steep rocks is secured by fixed steel ropes.
Routes:
Ostry Rohac can be reached
only in summer season (15 June - 31 October) using red-marked hiking trail on the main ridge of the mountains - 30 minutes of steep ascent from Jamnicke saddle, or 40 minutes from neighbouring peak Placlivô.
Very popular are round-trails from three valleys:
- Rohacska dolina (north)
- Jamnicka dolina (southeast)
- Ziarska dolina (southwest)

Ostrý Rohác (2,088 m.n.m.) je možno najznámejší, ostrý vrchol na hlavnom hrebeni Západných Tatier - Rohácov.
Spolu so susedným Placlivým tvoria charakteristické dvojicky, ktoré sa majestátne vypínajú nad Rohácskou dolinou.
Pristup:
Velmi popularne su tiez okruzne trasy z dolin:
- Rohacska dolina (Slovakia)
- okruh cez Smutne sedlo, Placlivo, Ostry Rohac a Volovec
- Ziarska dolina (Slovakia)
- okruh cez Ziarske sedlo s odskocenim si na Ostry Rohac
- Jamnicka dolina (Slovakia)
- okruh cez Jamnicke sedlo a Volovec s odbockou na Ostry Rohac
