Elfstrom Stadium is the home of the Kane County Cougars, Class A Midwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The stadium is located on the east side of Geneva, the county seat of Kane County. Elfstrom Stadium sits on property owned by the Kane County Forest Preserve District and is named for a former district president.

The team has drawn over 500,000 fans per season since 2001. Some major league players who have played for the Cougars are Antonio Alfonseca, Josh Beckett, Joe Borowski, Luis Castillo, Felix Heredia, Charles Johnson, Mark Kotsay, Scott Podsednik, and Dontrelle Willis.
