Biography
George Fisher was an American gossip columnist and radio show host who covered Hollywood during the 1940’s and 1950’s. His regular column on cinema appeared in the now defunct Los Angeles Evening News. Fisher also had a number of syndicated radio shows; George Fisher’s Interviews the Stars (circa 1950), Hollywood Confidential (circa 1930), Let’s Go Hollywood (circa 1930), and George Fisher’s Filmtown Featurettes(circa 1940). He occasionally appeared in minor film roles as either himself or as an announcer such as the 1954 version of A Star is Born in which he played an announcer in the film.
