Karel Václav Rais (visit link) (January 4, 1859 – July 8, 1926) was a Czech realist novelist, author of the so-called country prose, numerous books for youth and children, and several poems.

Lázne Belohrad is a small town, situated in the region under the Giant Mountains in a beautiful, ecologically clean hollow.

The Karel Václav Rais museum was rebuilt from an Empire style winter orangery in 1959 on the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous native Karel Václav.
