A well kept stone memorial at the junction of High Street and Church Road at the northern end of this small Essex village.

The paving round this combined WWI and WWII memorial has been recently relaid making the area clean and tidy. The cross and base are made of grey granite, the base a tapering, truncated pyramid on a block plinth and the cross of celtic design on a block on the base. The cross carries the wording:-

The memorial is just opposite a very nice pub where you can not only drink but eat as well. It's the 'Bluebell Inn' reputedly the birthplace of Dick Turpin in 1705.
