This sundial is dedicated to Barbara Perry Cosel, was was in the class of 1940 at Vassar (http://alums.vassar.edu/connect/class/1940s/1940/ ). Ihave not been able to find any more information on Ms. Cosel.
The equatorial sundial includes a chart to correct time to Mountain Standard Time (not Daylight Savings, but standard time) per month to allow for the particularities of Earth's orbit during various months. The sundial was created by William Perry.
