When Canadian Forces Base Gimli (CFB Gimli) was scheduled to close in Sept 1971, this Canadair CT-133 T-33 Silver Star was presented to the Town of Gimli by the officers and men of CFB Gimli.
Many Canadair CT-133's were used at CFB Gimli for RCAF and NATO pilot training.
