In Washington, at the center of the city, is Washington Square, a green area that has a Civil War monument.

The monument is located on the northwestern corner of the green. The green is a rotary where Main Street, Peoria Road and Eureka Street.

The monument is a concrete platform with a pyramidal pile of cannon balls three rows high. On the base is the following: "In Memory of Our Soldiers, 1861 - 1865."

I could not find any more information about this memorial. Part of the problem is that "Washington" is a common location name, so I ended up in Washington Park in Chicago and Ottawa, as well as Washington, DC.
