As the plaque reads:

Meadow Lake Town Office
Municipal Heritage Property

This building was constructed in 1938 an served as the community's post office from 1938 to 1980. The upper floor served as RCMP barracks from 1938 until 1954. The official opening was November 16, 1938 and the dedication was made by Member of Parliament C. R. McIntosh. George Stephenson was the district architect for public works. In November 1980 it became the Meadow Lake Town Office.
