This impressive sculpture is located at 99 N. Garfield Ave.--- directly across from Pasadena's City Hall.
This sculpture honors sports legends and brothers Mack and Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson was the first African-American in professional baseball in the modern era. His brother, Mack, was an Olympic track star...coming in 2nd to Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympic Games in Germany.
The giant busts of the two men are about 10 feet tall. The work was unveiled in 1997 and the artist is Ralph Helmick.
