The Angel at Heckfordbridge, also known as the Heckford Angel, is on the north side of the B1022, the Maldon Road, between Colchester and Tiptree, and has a large car park on the Tiptree side of the pub. In the car park is an old wall with this post box mounted in it, it would appear that the wall is a (garden) wall from an old dwelling which must have been on the site.
The post box is a standard type Victorian box with the royal cipher and crown at the top, Post Office on the letter opening hood. There is a manufacturers name below the door but the amount of paint on the box has made it impossible to read.
