In East Peoria, along Fondulac Drive, is a pulloff that has a great view of the Peoria night time skyline.

Fondulac Drive is a residential road that climbs the bluff and has a few great views over the river toward the city of Peoria. The south end of Fondulac Drive is at US 150, a tenth mile southwest of the US150 interchange with I-74. There is a sign at the entrance, but it is easy to miss - it looks like you are entering a commercial office park. You will then climb steeply and cross over I-74 as you are still climbing. The pulloff is on the left.

The pulloffs have a few spaces, so it may be hard to get a parking spot at times. So, be prepared to make multiple attempts. You can see the view from the car or get out and view it from the short mowed area.

The view is of most of the city of Peoria, a medium to large city with over 100,000 people and the largest city along the Illinois River. The Illinois River is a major navigable river that provides a water route from Chicago to the Mississippi River.

The major features of the skyline include a squarish building with orange lighting - Caterpillar World Headquarters; a pyramid-topped building with a rotating beacon - Commerce Bank Building; and Riverfront Park along the river.

The pulloffs are closed after 10 PM. Please respect this as this is in a residential district.
