Nearly 200 wooden steps assist the hiker in reaching one of the most spectacular natural wonders in this part of the state. Devil’s Kettle Falls plunges 50 along the Brule River, half down to a lower level of basalt bedrock and half into a pothole with a mysterious depth and an unknown end. The trail is a little over a mile long one way, and there are several overlooks which are popular with photographers. Wear sturdy footwear and take your time on the steps; there are several benches if you need to rest along the way.
